Peoria Premier Towing & Recovery: 24/7 Towing in Peoria, IL

Flatbeds, wheel-lifts and roadside help from a family crew with six trucks. You hear the price on the phone before a truck leaves the yard.

Towing Company in Peoria, IL

We tow cars, pickups, SUVs, motorcycles and work trucks all over Peoria. A lot of stuck cars don't even need the tow: a winch, a jump box or the spare gets them moving again. Most of what we haul rides on a flatbed, because that's the safest ride for all-wheel drive and electric cars. Our owner, Wes, spent 11 years as a diesel mechanic before he bought his first rollback in 2009. He still thinks like one: what's broken, and what will the tow do to the rest of the car?

Here's the deal: you tell us where you are and what the car is doing, and we tell you the price and an honest ETA before anyone rolls. We're on call 24 hours a day, every truck carries soft straps and wheel skates, and we photograph all four sides of your car before the hook. Veterans and first responders get a discount. Just ask.

We took about 3,900 calls in 2025. These are the ones that come in most, from a dead battery on a cold morning to a box truck stuck at a loading dock.

Crash scene cleared, car towed to your body shop or our storage, and the paperwork ready for your insurer.

Your car rides on a tilting deck with all four tires off the road, the safe way to move AWD cars and EVs.

Flatbed trips from Peoria to dealers, shops and new homes across Illinois, priced by the loaded mile before we load.

Box trucks, loaded work vans, small buses and fleet vehicles towed, plus forklifts and skid steers moved on a deck.

Jump starts, lockouts, fuel delivery and tire changes where you're parked, so you can drive off without a tow.

We pull cars, pickups and vans out of ditches, snowbanks and mud and set them back on the pavement.

Car Towing and Tow Truck Services in Peoria

Every tow starts with one question from our dispatcher: what's the safest way to move this car? If you ask us, the truck matters more than the distance. Here's when each one makes sense.

  • Light-Duty Car Towing

Sedans, minivans, SUVs and half-ton pickups make up most of our calls. A light-duty tow truck handles anything up to about 10,000 pounds GVWR (the most a vehicle is rated to weigh loaded), which covers nearly every family car in Peoria. Your shop, your driveway or the dealer: you pick.

  • Flatbed Towing

The whole bed tilts down and your car rides on the deck with no wheels on the road. We run 6 trucks and 4 of them are flatbeds, so it's our default for anything newer, lowered or damaged. More on our flatbed towing page.

  • Wheel-Lift Towing

A wheel-lift cradles the front or back tires and lifts that end, touching only rubber, never chains on the frame like the old hook and chain trucks. It's quick in tight spots like apartment lots and parking garages, and fine for two-wheel drive cars on a short trip.

  • AWD and 4x4 Towing

All-wheel drive cars go on the flatbed, every time. We've seen what a two-wheels-down tow does: the front and back of the drivetrain turn at different speeds, and the transfer case (the gearbox that splits power front to back) pays for it.

  • Electric Vehicle Towing

Tesla's owner's manual says to carry the car with all four tires off the ground, because spinning wheels make the motor produce power. We switch the car into Transport Mode, winch it onto a flatbed and strap it by the wheels. If a car won't shift, tire skates go under the wheels.

  • Motorcycle Towing

Bikes ride upright in a wheel chock on the flatbed, held by four soft straps on the frame, never on the bars. The chock lives on the truck, so a motorcycle tow doesn't need a special trip or a second truck.

  • 24 Hour Emergency Towing

Breakdowns don't keep business hours, and neither does our phone. Nights, weekends and holidays, somebody answers, gives you a price and sends the closest truck. If you're on a highway, stay buckled in with the hazards on.

  • Accident Towing

After a crash we load the car, sweep the glass and plastic off the road and take the car to your body shop or to secure storage until your insurer decides. Read how it works on our accident towing page.

  • Long-Distance Car Towing

Need the car in Chicago, St. Louis or back home in Iowa? We price long hauls by the loaded mile, strap the car on a flatbed and call you when we're about 1 hour out. See long-distance towing.

Why Peoria Drivers Call Peoria Premier Towing

We're a small family crew with six trucks, and we'd rather keep a customer for twenty years than make an extra $40 on one tow. Here is what that looks like on a call.

  • Towing in Peoria Since 2009

Wes bought his first rollback in 2009 after eleven years wrenching on trucks. The crew still works off the same rule: fix it on the spot if we can, tow it right if we can't.

  • Tow Prices Quoted Before We Roll

Think of the menu taped in a diner window: you know what breakfast costs before you sit down. You hear one number on the phone, and that's the bill.

  • Flatbed Tow Trucks for AWD and Electric Cars

Four of our six trucks are flatbeds. Your all-wheel drive, electric or lowered car rides on the deck with all four wheels off the road.

  • 24 Hour Towing With Honest ETAs

We answer every hour of every day. During a storm the wait gets longer for everyone, so we tell you the real number and text if it moves.

  • Damage-Free Towing With Photos

Soft straps on the wheels, never chains on the frame, and photos of all four sides before we load. You get the pictures if you want them.

  • Roadside Help Without the Tow

About one call in four ends with a jump, a spare or a few gallons of gas. If that's all you need, that's all you pay for.

What You Get on Every Tow

  • A price before we roll: the number you hear on the phone is the number on the bill, unless you ask us to do more.
  • An honest ETA: if a storm or a wreck on I-74 slows us down, we text you the new time instead of leaving you guessing.
  • Photos before the hook: four sides of your car, saved on the job ticket, so nobody argues about a scratch later.
  • The right truck: a flatbed for AWD, electric and lowered cars, a wheel-lift where that is faster and just as safe.
  • Drivers who know the job: every new driver rides along for two weeks before running calls alone.

When You Might Not Need a Tow

The Price Is Said Up Front

You hear the full price on the call.

Tell us the car, where it is and where it's going. We give you one number. A price you hear after the car is hooked up isn't a quote.

Maybe It's Just the Battery

In 2025 roughly 1 of our calls in 4 ended without a tow.

Describe what the car is doing. If a jump, a spare or a couple of gallons of gas will get you home, that's what we send, and it costs a lot less.

Roadside Assistance and Recovery in Peoria

Last winter about 1 call in 4 ended without a tow. Every flatbed we run carries a jump box, a floor jack, a lockout kit and soft straps, so the first truck can usually fix it right there.

  • Jump Start Service

Here's the deal: a dead battery is the most common call we get between November and March. We clip a booster pack straight to your battery, no second car parked nose to nose. Starts and stays running? You drive off. Dies again a mile later? That's usually the alternator talking.

  • Car Lockout Service

Keys on the seat. Engine running. It happens to everybody. Our drivers open the door with a thin strip tool that slips down and works the door linkage, so there's no pried frame or scratched paint. A kid or a dog locked inside jumps to the front of the line.

  • Flat Tire Change

We jack the car up off the shoulder, mount your spare and tighten the lugs in a star pattern. A donut spare is rated for about 50 mph, so treat it like a ride to the tire shop, not a new tire.

  • Fuel Delivery

Running on fumes up Route 6 or stuck on War Memorial at rush hour? We bring enough gas or diesel to reach the nearest station. The fuel is billed at pump price, on top of the service call.

  • Winch-Out Service

Slid off a soft shoulder? A winch cable and a pulley (a snatch block, which lets us pull from an angle) bring the car back onto pavement, often without a scratch. Most of them drive home. See winch-out service.

  • Snow and Ice Recovery

Peoria averages about 26 inches of snow a winter and about 118 nights below freezing, according to NOAA. The first real snowfall fills our board with ditch calls before lunch, so call early and we'll give you an honest wait.

Commercial and Medium-Duty Towing

Box trucks, work vans and company cars need a tow company that picks up the phone and sends one clean invoice. This is the commercial work we take.

Medium-Duty and Box Truck Towing

Our medium-duty wrecker pulls box trucks, cutaway vans, shuttle buses and loaded work trucks. We don't do semis. If that's what broke down, we'll tell you who does. More on medium-duty towing.

Fleet Towing Accounts

Contractors, dealers and delivery outfits can open an account. Your driver calls, reads off the unit number and gets back to work, and you get one invoice a month with every tow on it.

Private Property Towing

Apartment managers and shop owners call us to clear abandoned or unauthorized cars out of their lots. We handle it with the posted signs and the paperwork Peoria asks for.

Equipment Transport

Forklifts, skid steers, scissor lifts and small tractors ride on a flatbed between the job site, the rental yard and the shop. Strapped at four points, every time.

The bridge has no shoulder, so the driver was sitting in a live lane with the hazards on. We came in behind with the light bar running, winched the SUV onto the deck and had the lane open again in about ten minutes of loading.

What Peoria Drivers Say About Our Towing

A few notes customers sent after the truck left.

  • Tasha W., East Bluff

Battery died in the hospital parking garage after a night shift. They told me the price on the phone, showed up when they said, and had me running in ten minutes. No tow, no upsell.
  • Mike and Jen D., Washington

Our AWD minivan quit on I-74. The driver explained why it had to go on the flatbed instead of being dragged, took pictures of the whole van and had it at our mechanic before he opened.
  • Carlos R., Pekin

Slid into the ditch on a snowy back road. They pulled me out with a winch, checked my tires and steering and I drove home. Cost less than I was ready to pay.
  • Ashley K., Peoria Heights

Locked my keys in the car with the engine running and my dog inside. They got there fast and opened the door without a mark on it. Very kind about the whole thing.
  • Dan F., Morton

We run four box trucks and they handle every breakdown. One call, one invoice at the end of the month, and the trucks show up at our shop in one piece.
  • Brenda S., Bartonville

Rear-ended on Adams Street. They cleaned up the road, held my car in storage for two days while insurance sorted it out and helped me get my things out of the trunk.

Towing FAQs From Peoria Drivers

The questions people ask us most, usually from the side of the road.

How much does a tow truck cost in Peoria, IL?

A local tow in Peoria typically runs $95 to $150 in 2026 for the hook-up and the first 5 to 7 miles, then about $4 to $6 a mile. A flatbed can add to it. So can a ditch pull or a midnight snowstorm call. We give you the full price on the phone first.

Is towing available 24 hours a day?

Yes. Somebody answers the phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week, holidays included. Night and storm calls follow the same routine as daytime ones: you get a price, an honest arrival time and a text if that time changes while we are on the way to you.

Can you tow an all-wheel drive car?

Yes, on a flatbed. Towing an AWD car with two wheels on the road forces the front and rear axles to turn at different speeds, which can damage the transfer case and the center differential. We put every all-wheel drive and electric car on a flatbed with all four wheels off the ground.

Where will you take my car?

Wherever you choose: home, your mechanic, the dealer or a body shop your insurer picked. If the shop is closed at night, we can hold the car in secure storage and drop it off when they open, or leave it in their lot with the keys exactly where they tell us.

Does my car insurance cover towing?

Often it does. Many auto policies, credit cards and new-car warranties include roadside coverage for a tow up to a set distance. Check your insurance card or app before you pay. If your plan lets you use your own tow company, keep our receipt and the photos for the claim.

Do I have to be with my car when you tow it?

Not always. If the car is somewhere we can reach and you tell us where the keys are, we can tow it while you're at work or at home. We photograph it before loading and text you when it's dropped off, so you have a record of the whole tow from start to finish.

What should I do while I wait for the tow truck?

On a highway or bridge, stay in the car with your seat belt on and the hazards flashing. Illinois's Scott's Law makes drivers slow down and move over for stopped cars with hazards on, but plenty of them still don't. Off the highway, wait somewhere safe and keep your phone on.

Can you tow a motorcycle?

Yes. Motorcycles ride upright on the flatbed in a wheel chock, held by four soft straps on the frame and lower forks. We never strap across the handlebars or the tank. Cruisers, sport bikes and touring bikes all go the same way, and the chock lives on the truck.
